Our Story

Get to Know Us

The Calgary Music Academy was founded by Mary Jane Vandekerkhove in 2017 and became a registered non-profit organization in 2019. CMAC Faculty consists of teachers with extensive performing backgrounds from around the world and years of experience in teaching classical music to people of all ages at all levels. The school provides private lessons, group lessons, chamber music, theory (all levels), performance experience, and RCM exam preparation. Instruments of study include violin, cello, piano, voice and guitar.

CMAC Graduates

Calgary Music Academy has had many successful graduates who have gone on to study music at various music schools including the University of Toronto, Indiana's Jacobs School of Music, University of Southern California, McGill University and the University of Ottawa. Students who do not go on to pursue a music degree but instead go on to other demanding programs attribute much of their success to their years of a good musical education.

Graduates who have studied at Calgary Music Academy for five years or more before their graduating year from high school are eligible for a graduation scholarship of $300.00.

Scholarships

The Calgary Music Academy offers up to $1000 in scholarships! Scholarships are available for CMA graduates as well as Performance Outreach participants. The Performance Outreach Program offers three senior scholarships as well as three junior scholarships every year.
